From Campus To Court
This month, we’re featuring some familiar faces—local players who have gone on to compete at the college level. It’s great to see them continue their journey and represent the Grand Strand on and off the court.

How has growing up around tennis influenced your journey?
Growing up around tennis had a big influence on me. I was always at the courts watching people play, and it made me fall in love with the game and develop a real passion for it.
What’s been the most important factor in your development as a player?
Some of the most important factors in my development have been high-quality daily practices, repetition, and building a disciplined mindset. Those things really impact how much you grow as a player.
What surprised you most about college tennis?
What surprised me most is how competitive the matches are and how intense the players get. I was also surprised by the team energy—how much everyone cheers and how loud it gets during matches.
How do you stay motivated through tough matches or training days?
During tough matches, I remind myself to stay positive, keep fighting, and trust that I can get through it. On tough training days, I focus on working hard and keeping a positive mindset, knowing it will pay off in the long run.
What advice would you give younger players just getting serious about tennis?
Enjoy every minute of it. When things get tough, don’t get down on yourself—stay positive. Practice hard, give it your all every day, and trust that it will work out in the end.
