GSTL Mixed, Combo, and Super Senior
Growth Promotion Program

Concept:

  • The purpose of this program is to financially motivate Grand Strand tennis pros/managers to increase the number of new participates in the following leagues: Mixed, Combo, and Super Senior for 2005.
  • The proposal includes two financial prizes to motivate the recruitment of additional players in the targeted leagues above. The proposal also includes a bonus program to motivate all pros/managers to increase beginning players developmental programs.
  • Definition of Additional Player: A player that did not participate in 2004 in one or more of the following categories: Mixed, Combo and/or Super Senior.
  • Definition of 1, 2, 3 Graduate: A beginning player that did not participate in any leagues in 2004: who completes a formalized USA 1, 2, 3 introductory program for beginners in 2005 and participates in Mixed, Combo, and/or Super Seniors in 2005.

Program Growth Prizes:

  1. Each club’s program growth will be determined by their list of additional or new league players for 2005 and 1, 2, 3 graduates from 2005 playing league in 2005.
  2. The club that documents the greatest number of additional players (including 1, 2, 3 graduates) in all 3 categories combined (Mixed, Combo, and Super Senior) will receive a $300.00 cash prize.
  3. The club that documents the greatest percentage increase of additional players (including 1, 2, 3 players) in all 3 categories combined will receive a $300.00 cash prize.
    Examples: a player that did not participate in mixed 2004 but plays Mixed in 2005 will count as one point. (Even if they played Spring, Combo and/or Super Seniors in 2004.) If the new participant plays in both Mixed and Combo and did not play either in 2004, the player will count as 2 points. If the new player plays on more than one new team in 2005, they will receive a point for each additional/new team participation.
  4. Each club is eligible for consideration for both the “numbers growth” and the “percentage growth” prizes, but can win in only one category.
  5. New players on a team for a club that had no team in the designated league in 2004 may be counted for the “numbers growth” award prize and/or for the Bonus Program. However, players on such new teams will not be counted for the “percentage growth” award prize.

Bonus Program:

  1. Each club/Pro that does not win one of the overall $300.00 prizes may submit the names of their additional players to receive the following:
    1. $3.00 per additional player on each team for each league category
    2. $5.00 per additional 1, 2, 3 graduate player on each team for each league category in Mixed, Combo, and Super Senior.
  2. Bonus program disbursements will be made at the end of the year at the same time as the overall prizes for numbers growth and percentage growth.

Administration:

  • Each club must submit a list of their additional league players to the GSTL Board for consideration after each league ends. The awards committee will compare the 2005 “additional” players list to the GSTL League reports from 2004 to validate each participate. The committee will record each club’s numbers and reports for the Board’s final approval of overall prizes. Winner’s Prizes and bonus disbursements will be made at the End of Year Players Social in December 2005.
